Minot's Forestry Department is responsible for the upkeep of our city and park trees, which includes pruning street trees for clearance over the street and sidewalks. We also have planting programs to promote boulevard planting. The Forestry Department welcomes any questions that you may have about your trees.

Pruning boulevard trees of dead wood; street and sidewalk clearance.
Hazard tree removal on boulevards.
Disease and insect diagnosis for trees on the boulevard and in homeowners' yards.
Boulevard stump removal in July.
Homeowner tree identification -- for people who have just moved in or are just curious, we will identify the types of trees in your yard.
Removal of trees with Dutch Elm Disease from boulevards.
Tree planting advice -- recommend species and planting tips.
Forestry education -- available to speak to classrooms, groups of all types.
Boulevard tree planting -- $40 per tree, 1-1/2 inch caliper tree, 8-10 feet tall.
Pruning of trees or shrubs that are blocking street signs or overhanging roadways -- 857-4178.

Free chips to mulch flower beds and trees are available on request at the city landfill.
